Deserted Embodiment will commence with an opening reception on June 21st. This will be the first opportunity to come see Hannah Heaton’s paintings in person, featuring studio creations that pull inspiration from the transcendentalist movement, surrealism and the desert of the southwest. She creates alluring imagery that goes beyond the traditional landscape painting. Weaving together human form and landscape, this current body of work welcomes the viewer to observe a deeper reality which exists in the emotional body --- one that tells a story of longing to belong to the land. 

As the opening reception falls on the day of the summer solstice, we will honor this event with a fire offering where visitors can write down their intentions to be burned in the fire and transformed into greater visions for the future.

Later in the evening we will have local DJ’s playing some sweet dance beats to move to, release any tensions in the body and celebrate life. This dance party is themed, Desert Bloom, so come wearing your finest, funkiest and loudest desert dwelling garb. We really want to celebrate the magical characters that come out of desert at night. We will also transform the gallery space into a tea lounge with lots of squish to hang out on and connect with the art.
